SCCM 2002 Baseline Media Download

After a long wait, SCCM 2002 baseline media is available for download. In addition to that SCCM 2002 update is also globally available to all customers.

The EnableEarlyUpdateRing 2002 script to enable fast ring for 2002 update package in Configuration Manager is no more required. The SCCM 2002 update should be now available in Updates and Servicing node of SCCM console.

Most of all to apply Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) 2002 update, your site must be on version 1806 and above. A quick note to remember is that you install update 2002 starting at the top-level site of your hierarchy. Start the installation from your central administration site or from your stand-alone primary site. Using the SCCM 2002 baseline media, you can install a new site in a new hierarchy.

Since SCCM 1910 had several hotfixes released, some of you might wonder should they be installed prior to installing SCCM 2002 update ?. The answer is NO, you can skip the 1910 hotfixes and directly install SCCM 2002 update. That’s because ConfigMgr 2002 will include all the hotfixes that were released for version 1910.

Note – The version 2002 baseline media should be available for both VLSC and MSDN customers. If you already have the Configuration Manager product key, you can download eval copy and activate the product. If you wish to download it from VLSC, you can do that as well.

Under downloads section, look for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (current branch – version 2002) | 32-bit and 64-bit.

To download the version 2002 baseline media, you need to fill up some details first. Enter all details (all of them are mandatory). Click Continue.

Next, click Download button. Save the file named MEM_ConfigMgr_2002.exe. The file size is approx. 1.1 GB.

Once the download is complete, you can either double-click this file or manually extract it to a folder using winrar or 7zip. You can then use the setup file to begin the Configuration Manager installation.
