Windows 365 Cloud PC 2405 Updates
As of May 8, 2024, some new features for Windows 365 Cloud PCs include:
- FQDNs removed from requirement list
- A new report for Cloud PCs that aren’t available
- Intune scope tags for Windows 365
Let’s discuss these features in detail now.
FQDNs removed from requirement list
Windows 365 fully qualified domain name (FQDN) tags make it easier to grant access to Windows 365 required service endpoints through an Azure firewall. Many required FQDNs were previously moved to the *.infra.windows365.microsoft.com wildcard FQDN. Starting in service release 2405, the old FQDNs are now being removed.
Cloud PCs that aren’t available report is now generally available
The ‘Cloud PCs that aren’t available‘ report helps Windows 365 administrators identify Cloud PCs that might be currently unavailable.
When you open this report, it displays recent conditions up to 5 to 15 minutes ago. Therefore, Cloud PCs in the report might have already recovered since the condition was recorded. Also, Cloud PCs that recently became unavailable might not be in the report.
To get to the Cloud PCs that aren’t available report, sign in to Microsoft Intune admin center, select Devices > Overview > Cloud PC performance > View report (under Cloud PCs that aren’t available).
Windows 365 now supports Intune scope tags
Role-Based Access Control with Intune Scope tags are now supported for Windows 365. Scope tags are used in Microsoft Intune to assign permissions to specific policies in the organization.
In Windows 365, scope tags can be applied to the following resources:
- Provisioning policies
- Azure network connections (ANC)
- Cloud PCs
- Custom images
- Windows 365 RBAC role assignments
