SCCM 1906 Hotfix KB4516430 and KB4515740

For early update ring of SCCM 1906, Microsoft released hotfix KB4516430 and KB4515740. The KB4516430 is the latest update for SCCM 1906 while KB4515740 was released few weeks ago.

Microsoft, on August 16, 2019 announced that SCCM 1906 is globally available for all customers to install. The update 1906 should appear in console for everyone.

SCCM 1906 Hotfix KB4516430 and KB4515740

If you have installed SCCM 1906 update via running a early update ring script, there are actually two hotfixes released.

KB4515740 – Custom security roles lose folder permissions after an update to Configuration Manager current branch version 1906.
KB4516430 – Update for Configuration Manager version 1906, early update ring.

In my ConfigMgr lab, I never saw the hotfix KB4515740 appear in the console. Even though I had some custom security roles but the update never appeared in the console. I verified the same on my prod server but I didn’t see any update either.

However I got the update KB4516430 in my console today. This is because I had installed update 1906 by using early update ring builds. If you have installed the SCCM 1906 update on or after August 15, 2019, you will not see this update.

Here is the good news, if you have not installed KB4515740 update yet, you can directly install KB4516430. This update replaces the previously released update KB4515740. There is no server restart required post installing this update.

Most of all you should see the KB4516430 hotfix if the packages have the following GUIDs in the console.
